Lawsuit alleges man's death caused by ER negligence

When an individual goes to a hospital emergency room, they expect that the hospital and its doctors will provide them with quality care. Because individuals who come to an emergency room can be suffering from serious injuries or conditions, it can be extremely important for them to receive such care. Thus, it can be very harmful when hospitals and doctors act negligently towards emergency room patients.

This can be seen in allegations that have been brought in a recent wrongful death case. The case involves a man who went to the emergency room of a Texas hospital in January of 2009. While at the emergency room, the man reportedly was seen by a doctor. This doctor reportedly gave the man a diagnosis of Hypoglycemia and discharged him.

A representative of the man's estate alleges that the doctor didn't run any tests on the man when he saw him and that the doctor's diagnosis of the man was negligent.

After the doctor discharged the man, the man allegedly lost consciousness in the hospital's waiting room. The hospital allegedly refused requests that were then made by the man's wife to give the man additional care. The hospital supposedly denied these requests on the grounds that the man had already received treatment.

The representative of the man's estate claims that the hospital's refusal to provide additional care amounted to negligence.

The representative alleges that it was later discovered that the man had experienced a stroke. The representative further claims that the man died from this stroke.

The representative has now brought a wrongful death lawsuit in Texas against the doctor who saw the man and the hospital. The representative claims that the above-mentioned negligence by these parties contributed to the man's death.

The allegations in this case illustrate how it can be very harmful when a hospital and its doctors act negligently towards an individual who comes to an emergency room to receive care. Thus, one hopes that all hospitals and medical professionals will avoid conduct like that alleged in this case.
