Man claims negligent care led to wife's death

When a person is a patient of a hospital, they expect that the facility will take all reasonable steps to protect their health. They certainly don't expect to suffer injuries as a result of staying at the hospital.

Unfortunately, patients do sometimes experience hospital-acquired injuries. These injuries can cause great harm to patients. Thus, it is important for hospitals and their staff members to do everything they reasonably can to prevent hospital-acquired injuries from occurring. Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen involving hospital-acquired injuries.

The case involves a woman who stayed at a New Hampshire hospital after having undergone a surgery. The woman's husband claims that, during this hospital stay, ulcers developed on the woman's body. The husband alleges that two physician's assistants who provided care for the woman during her stay failed to take proper actions to prevent, detect and treat these ulcers.

The husband alleges that these ulcers caused the woman great pain and resulted in her having to undergo numerous procedures. According to the husband, the woman died two months after the ulcers developed due to complications that arose from them.

The husband has now brought a lawsuit against the two physician's assistants and the hospital. The husband claims that their negligent actions regarding the woman's care contributed to the woman developing ulcers and to the woman's death.

The allegations in this case demonstrate how serious hospital-acquired injuries can be and how much harm they can cause to patients. Thus, it is extremely important for hospitals and their staff members to avoid engaging in negligent conduct which could increase a patient's risk of developing these types of injuries. If hospitals or medical professionals do engage in such conduct, the consequences for patients could be devastating.
