Doctor accused of failure to diagnose

It is very important for doctors to not act negligently in connection to the diagnosis of a patient. If a doctor, through negligence, fails to diagnose a condition a patient suffers from, the patient in question can suffer great harm. No patient should have to have their health or life put at risk because a doctor committed negligence.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen in Illinois involving an alleged failure to diagnose. The case involves a woman who reportedly went to an Illinois hospital in September of 2007. While at the hospital, the woman reportedly received care from a doctor. Reportedly, the woman died two days after she arrived at the hospital.

The woman's husband claims that the above-mentioned doctor provided the woman with negligent care. According to the husband, when caring for the woman, the doctor negligently failed to diagnose congestive heart failure and a heart attack in a timely manner.

The woman's husband has brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in Illinois against the doctor in connection to these allegations. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

A patient can suffer great harm when a doctor acts negligently in connection to the diagnosis of the patient. Thus, one hopes that doctors make sure to avoid committing negligence like that alleged in the above-mentioned case. One also hopes that doctors are held accountable when they fail to properly diagnose a patient due to negligence and such failure results in a patient suffering harm or a patient dying.
