Man alleges transplant-related negligence led to him developing cancer

It is very important for medical facilities to not act negligently when it comes to organ transplants. No patient should have to be subjected to transplant-related negligence.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen involving allegations of transplant-related negligence. The case is from Illinois. The case involves a man who underwent a liver transplant in May 2011. The transplant was performed at a hospital in Illinois.

The man alleges that the hospital and the organ donation organization which provided the donated liver he received in the transplant negligently failed to properly test the donated liver prior to the transplant. According to the man, the donated liver contained cancerous tissue.

The man claims that having this allegedly cancerous liver placed into him has caused him to suffer a variety of harms, including the development of potentially life-threatening cancer.

According to the article on the Chicago Sun-Times' website which reported this story, the man has brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in a court in Illinois in connection to these allegations. The lawsuit names the above-mentioned hospital and the above-mentioned organ donation organization as defendants. It has been reported that monetary damages are being sought in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case illustrate, transplant-related negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Thus, one hopes that medical facilities are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case. One also hopes that all medical facilities make sure to act properly when providing transplant-related care.
