Man accuses doctor of surgery-related negligence

It can be a very serious matter when a medical professional acts negligently when providing a patient with surgical care. Such negligence can be extremely impactful on a patient and no patient should have to face it.

Recently, a medical malpractice case involving allegations of surgery-related negligence has arisen in West Virginia. The case involves a man who underwent a surgical procedure in May 2003. The procedure in question was a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

According to the man, the doctor who performed this surgery committed negligence during the course of providing him with care. Specifically, the man alleges that the doctor committed actions during the surgery which resulted in a gallbladder perforation and that the doctor failed to take proper actions in response to this perforation and its results.

The man claims that this alleged negligence by the doctor caused him to suffer a variety of harms, including mental anguish, pain and a reduction in life expectancy.

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought by the man in a court in West Virginia against the doctor in connection to the above allegations. It has been reported that compensatory damages are being sought in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, surgery-related negligence can cause a significant amount of harm to patients. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when providing patients with surgery-related care. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional acted negligently in relation to a surgery.
