Lawsuit alleges woman was the victim of surgical negligence

It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to not act negligently when providing a patient with care in relation to a surgery. Surgical negligence is something that no patient should have to be subjected to. Such negligence can result in patients suffering serious harms (such as having to undergo an additional surgery). Such harms can have a variety of significant impacts on a patient's life.

One hopes that, when medical professionals and medical facilities engage in surgical negligence, they are held accountable for the harm their negligence causes.

Recently, a case has arisen in Louisiana that involves a surgery and allegations of negligence. The case involves a woman who underwent a surgical procedure in September 2008. The surgery in question involved the installation of a knee replacement implant. The surgery reportedly was performed by two doctors.

According to the woman, these two doctors acted negligently during the course of the surgery. The woman claims that this alleged negligence caused her to suffer a variety of harms including:

  • Mental and physical pain
  • Abnormal leg length
  • Having to undergo another knee replacement surgery

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought in a court in Louisiana by the woman in connection to these allegations. A hospital and the two above-mentioned doctors have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. It has been reported that the woman is asking for damages in this lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case and how it is ultimately resolved.
