Woman claims medical negligence led to her developing infection

It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to not commit negligence in connection to patient care. Such negligence can be extremely harmful to patients. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional or medical facility acted negligently during the course of giving him or her care.

Recently, a case has arisen involving allegations of medical negligence. The case is from California. The case involves a woman who received care at a hospital in Burlingame, California in November 2011. The care the woman received was in relation to a gastrointestinal problem she was experiencing.

The woman alleges that negligence occurred during the course of this care and that this alleged negligence resulted in her developing an infection. The infection in question was Clostridium difficile (also known as C. diff). The woman claims that this infection caused her to suffer a variety of harms.

The woman has brought a lawsuit in a court in California in connection to the above allegations. The above-mentioned hospital is named as defendant in this lawsuit. The article on the San Mateo Daily Journal's website which reported this story did not mention what specific relief the woman is seeking in her lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this case illustrate, medical negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. One hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities are held accountable when they commit harmful medical negligence against patients.
