Diagnosis-related negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. No patient should have to be subjected to such negligence.
Sadly, diagnosis-related negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.
Recently, a wrongful death case involving allegations of diagnosis-related negligence has arisen in Ohio. The case involves a man who received care from two doctors in Ohio. The man died in April 2011.
The two above-mentioned doctors have been accused of having acted negligently in regards to their care of the man. Specifically, the two doctors have been accused of having negligently failed to diagnose the man in a timely manner. It has further been alleged that this alleged negligence resulted in a delay occurring in the man receiving proper treatment and that this led to the man’s death.
According to the SalemNews.net article which reported this story, a wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the man’s estate in a court in Ohio in connection to these allegations. In this lawsuit, the two above-mentioned doctors have been named as defendants. Reportedly, damages are being sought in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this wrongful death case and how it will ultimately be resolved.
As the allegations in this case underscore, diagnosis-related negligence can sometimes result in a patient’s death. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when it comes to the diagnosing of patients. No patient should have to lose his or her life because a medical professional acted negligently.
