Man Brings Lawsuit Against Pharmacy

It is very important for pharmacies to not act negligently when it comes to filling a prescription for an individual. Such negligence can result in an individual being given an incorrect medication. This type of medication error can cause an individual to suffer a great deal of harm. No patient should have to suffer harm because a pharmacy acted negligently.

Recently, a medication error case has arisen in Missouri. The case involves a Missouri pharmacy. A St. Louis man claims that the pharmacy gave him the wrong medication.

According to the man, the pharmacy was supposed to give him a medication called Hydrocodone. The man claims that the pharmacy instead mistakenly gave him a pill bottle that contained a medication called Amlodipine Besylate. This pill bottle reportedly had a different patient’s name on it. However, the bag the pill bottle was in reportedly had the man’s name on it.

According to the man, he took the medication the pharmacy gave him for several days. He alleges that he has suffered a wide variety of harms as a result of taking this medication.

According to the KMOV article which reported this story, the man has brought a lawsuit against the pharmacy in connection to these allegations. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

As the allegations in this case demonstrate, great harm can be caused when a pharmacy makes an error regarding medications. Thus, one hopes that pharmacies make sure to avoid engaging in negligence which could cause such errors to occur.
