Man Claims Medical Negligence Resulted in Wife’s Death

When a person receives surgery-related care, they expect that the medical facility and the medical professionals that are providing them with such care will act properly. If a medical facility or medical professional fails to meet this expectation and provides a patient with negligent care in connection to a surgical procedure, the patient can suffer great harm. Sadly, such medical negligence can sometimes even result in a patient’s death.

Recently, a case has arisen in West Virginia involving a surgery and allegations of medical negligence. The case involves a woman who reportedly underwent a surgery in November of 2009. The woman reportedly died a few days after the surgery.

The woman’s husband alleges that the woman received negligent care in connection to the above-mentioned surgery. The woman’s husband further claims that the woman’s death was the result of this alleged negligent care.

The woman’s husband has brought a lawsuit in a court in West Virginia in connection to these allegations. The lawsuit names multiple defendants. Reportedly, one of the defendants is a doctor. In this lawsuit, the woman’s husband reportedly is asking for compensatory damages.

As the allegations in this case illustrate, surgery-related medical negligence can cause patients to suffer a great deal of harm. Thus, one hopes that medical facilities and medical professionals make sure to act properly when providing a patient with care in connection to a surgery. One also hopes that medical facilities and medical professionals are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case.
