It is very important for hospitals to not commit negligence when it comes to the care of patients. Such negligence can be a very serious matter. It can have significant impacts on a patient’s life.
Recently, a settlement was reached in a case that involved allegations of medical negligence. The case was from Ohio. The case involved a man who, in August 2011, received care at a hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
The man alleged that negligence occurred during the course of this care. Included among the negligent conduct the man claimed occurred during the hospital’s care of him were: a failure to properly monitor, a failure to respond properly to the results of a CT scan that had been performed on him, medication-related negligence and a negligent failure to diagnose. According to the man, this alleged medical negligence led to him suffering a variety of significant harms.
The man brought a lawsuit in a court in Ohio against the hospital in connection to the above allegations of negligent care. As we mentioned above, this lawsuit was recently settled. According to the article on the Toledo Blade’s website which reported this story, under the terms of this settlement, the hospital will make a monetary payment to the man.
No patient should have to be subjected to negligent hospital care like that which was alleged in this recently settled case. One hopes that hospitals are held accountable when they act negligently in connection to patient care and such negligence results in a patient getting hurt.
