It is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when it comes to surgical care. When a hospital or medical professional commits a negligent error during the course of providing a patient with surgical care, it can cause a great deal of harm to the patient.
Recently, a case involving allegations of surgical negligence has arisen. The case involves a woman who underwent a surgical procedure at a hospital in Illinois in April 2010. The surgical procedure in question was a hysterectomy.
The woman alleges that, during the procedure, medical professionals who were providing her with care in connection to the surgery committed multiple negligent errors. The woman claims that she suffered harm as a result of these alleged errors.
The woman also claims that negligence occurred in regards to the condition of the operating room that this surgical procedure was performed in. According to the woman, this alleged negligence resulted in her acquiring a staph infection.
A lawsuit has been brought in a court in Illinois by the woman in connection to these allegations. The doctor who reportedly performed the surgery and the above-mentioned hospital have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. The woman reportedly is asking for damages in this lawsuit.
No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional or hospital acted negligently in connection to a surgical procedure. Thus, one hopes that all hospitals and medical professionals make sure to not commit negligence like that alleged in the above-mentioned medical malpractice case.
