Woman Alleges Doctor Misdiagnosed Her

No patient should have to be subjected to diagnosis-related negligence. Diagnosis-related negligence by medical professionals (such as a negligent misdiagnosis) can cause delays in the detection and treatment of conditions patients have. Such delays can be very harmful to patients. Thus, diagnosis-related negligence can be a very serious matter.

Recently, a medical malpractice case involving allegations of diagnosis-related negligence has arisen. The case is from Louisiana. The case involves a woman who went to the emergency room of a hospital in Louisiana, complaining of abdominal pain. At the emergency room, the woman received care from a doctor.

The woman alleges that a negligent misdiagnosis occurred during the course of this care. Specifically, the woman claims that the doctor negligently diagnosed her with food poisoning when she was actually suffering from appendicitis.

According to the woman, this alleged negligent misdiagnosis caused a delay in the detection of her appendicitis and this delay caused her to suffer harms.

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought by the woman in a court in Louisiana against the doctor in connection to the above allegations. It has been reported that the woman is asking for damages in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, patients can suffer great harm when medical professionals commit diagnosis-related negligence. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when it comes to the examining, testing and diagnosing of patients.
