Woman Brings Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Against Doctor

It is very important for medical professionals to act properly when providing care to patients. If a medical professional acts negligently in connection to the care of a patient, it can cause great harm to the patient. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional acted negligently.

Recently, a case involving allegations of medical negligence has arisen in Illinois. The case involves a woman who reportedly went to the emergency room of an Illinois hospital on October 12, 2009 because she was experiencing pain in her left wrist.

Allegedly, a doctor at the hospital then provided the woman with care and discharged her. The woman claims that the doctor acted negligently in regards to her. Specifically, the woman alleges that the doctor failed to provide her with proper care and negligently failed to treat a ligament tear that she had sustained.

According to the woman, the alleged negligence caused her to suffer a variety of harms including:

  • Pain
  • Suffering
  • Impairment

The woman has brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in Illinois against the doctor in connection to these allegations. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

As the allegations in this case underscore, it can be very harmful when a medical professional commits medical negligence when providing care to a patient. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they act negligently in connection to the care of a patient. One also hopes that medical professionals make sure to not commit patient care-related negligence.
