It is very important for medical professionals to not act negligently when performing medical procedures on patients. When a medical professional fails to act properly when performing a medical procedure, it can result in a patient suffering harm. Sadly, such negligence can sometimes even result in a patient’s death.
Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen in Texas involving allegations of medical procedure-related negligence. The case involves a man who reportedly received care from a doctor in Texas in January of 2011.
Allegedly, on January 12, 2011, the doctor placed a vein tunneled dialysis catheter on the man. It has been alleged that the doctor acted negligently in connection to this procedure and placed the catheter incorrectly. It has further been alleged that this alleged negligence resulted in the man’s death.
According to the Ultimate Cy-Fair article which reported this story, a wrongful death lawsuit has been brought in a court in Texas by an individual on behalf of the man’s estate against the above-mentioned doctor in connection to these allegations. This lawsuit reportedly is asking for damages.
As the allegations in this wrongful death case underscore, it can be very harmful when a medical professional commits medical procedure-related negligence. No patient should have to have his or her health and/or life put at risk because a medical professional acted negligently in connection to a medical procedure. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when it comes to the performance of medical procedures on patients.
