It can be a very serious matter when hospitals and their staff act negligently in connection to the care of patients. Such negligence can be very harmful to patients. Such negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.
A case has recently arisen involving allegations of the above-mentioned type of negligence. The case is from New York. The case involves a man who received care at a hospital in New York in June 2011. The man’s wife claims that the hospital and its staff committed negligence in regards to the man’s care.
According to the man’s wife, the man was not properly monitored while he was at the hospital and this resulted in him suffering a fall. The man’s wife further alleges that negligence occurred in connection to the response to the fall.
The man’s wife claims that this alleged negligence at the hospital led to the man’s death. The man’s death occurred on June 4, 2011.
A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the man’s wife against the hospital in relation to these allegations. According to the article on syracuse.com which reported this story, the lawsuit is asking for punitive and compensatory damages. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.
As the allegations in this case underscore, negligent care at hospitals can sometimes result in a patient’s death. Thus, one hopes that all hospitals and all medical professionals who work at hospitals make sure to act properly when it comes to patient care.
