About Andrea

Andrea Rueda is a law student and a passionate advocate for equality, excellence, and personal growth. She grew up in the small town of Trumbull, Connecticut, raised by two incredibly hardworking parents who immigrated from Peru and Colombia. Their resilience and support, along with the guidance of her great-grandmother, have shaped everything she does.

Andrea studied law with a specialization in Justice and Law at American University and plans to continue her academic career in Connecticut after a gap year. Professionally, she has held multiple roles: from her first job in retail at age 15 to her work as a paralegal at Commonfund, which she considers to have been the most rewarding step in her career to date.

She takes pride in her leadership roles, including her position as Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity for her sorority, and in balancing a full-time job, internships and studies, all while staying true to her values ​​and vision.

Outside of work and academia, she’s a swimmer, an avid reader, and a proud mom to Miso, her cat. She loves connecting with people, standing up for what matters, and pushing herself to grow, even when it’s uncomfortable. Her bucket list? Skydiving in Hawaii, helping others in the legal field, and making her family proud.

Described as loyal, passionate, and determined, Andrea aspires to live a life based on kindness, ambition, and purpose.
