About Andrea

Andrea Rueda is a legal studies student and a passionate advocate for equity, excellence, and lifelong growth. She grew up in the small town of Trumbull, Connecticut, raised by two incredibly hardworking parents who immigrated from Peru and Colombia. Their resilience and support, along with the guiding presence of her great-grandmother, have shaped everything she does.

Andrea studied Legal Studies with a minor in Justice & Law at American University and plans to continue her academic journey in Connecticut after a purposeful gap year. Professionally, she has worn many hats – from her first retail job at 15 to working as a Legal Assistant at Commonfund, which she believes has been the most fulfilling step in her career so far.

She is proud of her leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity for her sorority, and balancing a full-time job, internships, and school – all while staying true to her values and vision.

Outside of work and academics, she is a swimmer, a reader, and a proud cat mom to Miso. She loves connecting with people, standing up for what matters, and pushing herself toward growth, even when it’s uncomfortable. Her dream list? Skydiving in Hawaii, helping others through the legal field, and making her family proud.

Described as loyal, passionate, and strong-minded, Andrea aims to live a life rooted in kindness, ambition, and purpose.
